Abersoch Beach

Went to Abersoch for the weekend. This is the first none snapshot (none Lexie) picture I can recall taking in weeks, and boy am I out of practice.  I definately need to get out shooting soon!

Cropped to give panorama and applied curves.

Lexie Lings

Whilst consious that I want to post a photo of something other than Lexie, I’ve just been sooo busy so she’s pretty much all I’ve had time to take pictures of!

Well I’m totally smitten with my beautiful daughter. She was a long time coming, but finally born at 2:02 AM on 29th January. 6lbs and 13 ouzes, which is pretty light considering she was 13 days overdue!

The big hand (Gramps) is 19,468 times older than the little one!

Discontent

Another one from the archive. I’m feeling a little discontented with all my photos at the moment. I feel they lack any message. I feel they lack any feeling. This photo of some stairs for instance doesn’t say anything, it doesn’t have any puch, so does it have any purpose?

I really have been evaluating what I want to achieve from my pictures, I can’t help feeling that a snapshot of someones child that has little photographic merrit can mean so much more than the shots I take with all the equipment and perhaps little skill I have.

Time to get my thinking cap on about where I want to go with my “hobby” I suppose.

A little shopping anyone?

Another from my recent trip to a certain furniture superstore. I’ve made a new theme, still working on a few minor niggles, but I think it doesn’t look too bad.  Went to Chatsworth Park today and hoped to get some shots in, but was a little too late and it was already dark. Doh!

Tree

Went out to get some awesome shots of Lyme Cage after dark, to discover it was unbelievably foggy there! Grabbed a couple of 7 minute expusures but I’m not very happy with them. Might work on them some more and post them later. I did manage to catch this tree when I was walking back though. It’s actually two halogen lights behind it, but the fog is diffusing them nicely!

Hanging

The colours in this unusual location attracted me. I fancy taking some long exposure night time shots  soon as a lot of the other blogs I read seem to be playing with them at the moment, so maybe I should jump in the water.

Logs

Took this on new years day. I went for a walk and thought I took some pretty good shots, only to get home and not really like any of them. Still getting used to the new camera I suppose. Anyway, decided to brush up on my ps skills to see what I could get out of one of them.

Lauxnid Fly

I took this shot some time last summer, but I just found it in an old temporary folder on my machine. Made me think that I really should do a set of macro insects. They are fairly interesting to shoot and the results can be surprisingly sharp, even using cheap extension tubes.

For some concept of scale, this fly is stood on a regular blade of grass.
